At St. John’s we seek to serve the whole community of Irlam in the name of Jesus Christ and everyone will find a warm welcome to any of our activities.
St. John’s is a Church of England Parish Church and our worship is centred on the celebration of Holy Communion. We aim to be relaxed and friendly with a gentle and prayerful atmosphere.
COVID-19 UPDATE (06/11/2020)
After three and a half months of careful, covid-secure worship, it is with regret that we must once again close for public worship.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and with great patience accepted the need to worship on alternate weeks so that all would have a chance for time in church.
Although regular church services are unable to go ahead, we are able to open for individual prayer, which is defined as a person or household entering the church to pray on their own and not as part of a group, led prayer or communal act of worship. We will aim to be open on Sundays in 15 minute slots and will try to meet requests on other days for church to be open where possible.
In order to protect you and our community, please phone Rev Jane Warhurst on 01617752461 to arrange a convenient time.
Please note – we are only permitted to allow individuals or members of the same household to visit at the same time
Changes to the situation will be posted here.
For now, you may like to join in the month of prayer for the nation at 6pm each evening through November. The weblink to the resources is https://www.churchofengland.org/more/media-centre/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-churches/call-prayer-nation.
